Evan A. Lowry II is an Associate with the firm and practices civil litigation with a concentration on medical malpractice defense and health care law. Prior to joining Matis Baum O’Connor, Mr. Lowry worked for a local Pittsburgh firm with emphasis on general liability and insurance defense.
Mr. Lowry previously worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office within the Child Abuse Unit. During his time there, Mr. Lowry prosecuted more than 30 jury trials in addition to numerous non-jury trials involving matters of physical and sexual assault of children as well as homicides.
Mr. Lowry earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Business from the Pennsylvania State University in 2005 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2009 with advanced certifications in the fields of Civil Litigation and Health Law. Mr. Lowry was selected to serve as a Teaching Assistant for the Legal Writing and Research class at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he focused on mentoring first year students with their research and writing. In additional to his work as a Teaching Assistant, Mr. Lowry worked in the University of Pittsburgh Health Law Clinic assisting clients with Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Insurance matters during his last year of law school.
