Nicholas C. Katko is an Associate with the firm and practices civil litigation with an emphasis on medical malpractice defense and health care law. Mr. Katko represents physicians, medical practice groups, and other health care providers in the defense of medical malpractice lawsuits and professional liability claims
Prior to joining Matis Baum O’Connor as an Associate, Mr. Katko worked as a law clerk at the firm throughout law school. During his time as law clerk, he conducted extensive research and drafted memoranda on various issues in medical malpractice and health care law.
Mr. Katko earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he focused his studies on litigation. While attending law school, he served as the Lead Executive Editor of the Journal of Law and Commerce, one of two law reviews at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. In this capacity, Mr. Katko researched and analyzed case law, law review articles, and engaged in the selection of articles for publication with a focus on both domestic and international commercial law. Before law school, Mr. Katko graduated early from Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Arts.
